Out & About
Let’s teach your dog concentration, impulse control, and how to manage distractions when out and about!
This one-hour class meets in real-life scenarios in a different location each week! We will teach:
- How handlers can take charge of the walk
- How to strengthen the bond between dog and human
- How to train your dog to pay attention to who is holding the leash
- How your dog can ‘settle’ while on the walk
- How to walk with distractions in a pack
- Learn how to smell from a distance
- How to walk around people & other dogs
- How to react (or not!) to higher distraction levels (cars, kids, squirrels, etc.)
Each Class is in a Different Location ~ Each Week!
Prerequisite: This class is a good fit for dogs 12 months old and older. Registration for Out & About requires proof of all up-to-date vaccinations.
All Dogs must be current on all vaccinations. If your dog reacts negatively toward other dogs or people or has severe behavior issues, these classes will not be a good fit. Contact Understanding Your Dog for private sessions, which will be the better option.
