About this class
S.T.A.R. Puppy training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy and provide the opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you’ll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills. S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead into the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program.
This Class concentrates on teaching puppy manners in public and around other dogs, and skills such as:
Reaction to Distractions
Sit and Down on command
Walking on a Leash

Prerequisite: For puppies 12 months old or younger
All Dogs must be current on all vaccinations. If your dog reacts negatively toward other dogs or people or has severe behavior issues, these classes will not be a good fit. Contact Understanding Your Dog for private sessions, which will be the better option.
