I. GENERAL OPERATIONS
General: Understanding Your Dog Day School (UYDDS), as referred to hereafter) is owned and operated by Theresa Pitner. The trainer for UYDDS is Tracy Crotts. The hours of operation are to ensure staff have adequate time to provide a safe and clean environment for all dogs in our care.

Business Hours. UYDDS is open Monday through Friday 6:30 am-1 pm.
Holiday Hours. We do not provide daycare services on New Year's Day, Easter Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Evacuation Protocol. Should an evacuation be necessary, all owners will be notified to pick up their pets as soon as reasonably possible. For pets that are not able to be picked up, UYDDS will provide reasonable services depending on the situation. UYDDS is not responsible for injury or death that occurs as a result of natural weather occurrences for pets that remain in our care.
Emergency Services. UYDDS does not provide veterinarian services. In case of an emergency, pets will be brought to their veterinarian listed on their profile during business hours by a UYDDS employee. All charges incurred are the responsibility of the pet owner. UYDDS is not responsible for injuries that occur as a result of daycare play.
II. INTAKE PROCEDURES
All dogs must remain current on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines. The Rabies vaccine is required on all dogs by law, and dogs will not be admitted if their Rabies vaccine is expired, even by just one day. UYDDS reserves the right to deny admission to any dog if their vaccines are not current. Bordetella vaccine takes several days to be effective; UYDDS requires that dogs receive their vaccines at least 7 days before their stay. It will be the owner's responsibility to bring their dog's vaccination records from a licensed veterinarian at enrollment and each time their dog's vaccines are renewed. Vaccines that a veterinarian does not administer cannot be accepted because UYDDS cannot confirm the proper dosage, storage, and administration of those vaccines.
All dogs attending and participating in group play should be in overall good health and must be fit to play in an active environment. Dogs that have hearing conditions can be successful in group play, but dogs with vision impairments are generally not comfortable in a group of dogs. For dogs that have hip or joint conditions, or other physical conditions, owners must discuss this with their veterinarian before the dog participates in group play. Owners must let UYDDS know if their dog has any health issues. UYDDS can care for many dogs with special health needs, such as special feeding, more frequent bathroom breaks, or mobility issues. There may be an additional fee required.
Check-in/Check-Out: Proper ID is required to check-in and check-out any dog. Dogs will only be released to the owner or to persons identified before pickup by the owner via written and signed documentation.
Leash: For the safety of UYDDs, all dogs are required to enter and exit the facility on-leash.
III. FOOD AND MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION
Food is not administered for day school attendees unless arrangements are previously made.
Medication is only administered with proper documentation, per the instructions documented. USYDDS does not supply medication or keep a supply of medication outside of basic first aid supplies. Medication must be brought in the original packaging with the prescribed instructions included. Please also bring pill pockets, cheese, peanut butter, or any other items that set your dog up for success when taking their medications.
IV. CLEANING PROCEDURES
OUTSIDE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Outside play yards and walking areas are constantly monitored during use for feces. All feces should be immediately picked up and disposed.
INSIDE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Kennels are cleaned on an as-needed basis during the day, with an overall cleaning occurring once a day to ensure the health and well-being of the pets.
Inside play areas are constantly monitored and cleaned during the day, with a full cleaning occurring once check-out is complete in the evenings.
GENERAL CLEANING
General cleaning occurs as needed. UYDDS is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the pets in our care.
V. Curriculum & Areas
The majority of the Day School is spent in a structured, pre-arranged curriculum by client & trainer curriculum.
USYDDS has defined outdoor play areas and two rooms for indoor work
VI. PAYMENT OF FEES
Day School fees are required to be rendered at the time of pickup. Dogs will not be released until payment is received.
VII. RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY
To maintain the safety of the pets in UYDDS' care, reservations for all services are encouraged.

Owners will receive a confirmation via email.
UYDDS has the right to turn away any dog that UYDDS cannot accommodate.
VIII. ANIMAL BITES/INJURIES
UYDDS pledges to provide a safe, healthy environment for trainers and pets; it is acknowledged that bites and injuries can occur.
UYDDS will provide basic first aid as needed. If further care is required, UYDDS will follow the policy for emergency services listed in the Policies and Procedures manual. UYDDS is not responsible for any injury as a result of dog play or your dog being in a group environment.
Risks: UYDDS strives to achieve a safe environment for all dogs
UYDDS cannot prevent accidents, injuries, illnesses, or changes in behavior.
Owners who bring their dog to UYDDS accept these risks, and you release UYDDS and its trainers from all liability arising from the occurrence of such events. In addition, UYDDS will not pay for vet bills if the dog becomes sick or is injured while with UYDDS.
UYDDS supervises all activity
UYDDS cannot prevent injuries and accidents 100%. While accidents and injuries can occur at any time, there is a greater risk of an accident or injury if a dog participates in group play.
A qualified trainer will supervise group play; however, working with live animals can be unpredictable.
